Heads up on a Pittsburgh area lathe, not mine

Trolling the gun forums on facebook, i was a day late and dollar short on a 618 atlas, you know for stems, or small gun parts. I posted after sold and was sent a message by a 3rd party selling a 10x36 atlas for $550. This beast won't fit in my garage. I think if someone is local, HAS ROOM, and if th...

Re: a mini metal lathe?

What the above poster said is absolutely correct. Craigslist Michigan has a lot of lathes. A lot of people that had factory jobs had hobby lathes at home it would appear. I cover Michigan for work, I'm always checking craigslist for tools up there. A quick check in the Detroit area has 4-5 lathes su...

Installing quick change on Grizzly G4000

Has anyone that runs a Grizzly, or similar Chinese lathe installed the A2Z quick change toolpost? I broke down and ordered one the other day, along with all the other crap to mount it. Premal only recommended it a year and a half ago, I guess it's time. Now I am kinda fretting it's arrival. I know a...

Re: Do the prices of other pipe makers bother you?

Hello Jeremiah; How to create interest in your pipes? Do pipe shows. Go to pipe clubs that are within driving distance. Get active on pipe collector forums. Honestly you do not want hype! What you should be looking for is serious interest from buyers / collectors. Hype lasts a short time. Todays ho...

Re: Do the prices of other pipe makers bother you?

Exposure is key, marketing is key. You need to build a hype, and demand around your products. Social media is the cheap free way to go about this. I've bought pipes from Joe and Micah. Both make a great product that warrants a higher price tag than I paid, and I paid what they were asking for them....

Re: Chubby pot nosewarmer

The uneven stain stuck out for me more than the stem. I acquire a lot of pipes, as some of the people on the forum can attest. I (from a customer standpoint) dig the stem, it's different from what you usually see. I know if might not be what you're gunning for making it, but I like the looks of the ...
