Re: Danish Style Rhodesian
I have, within the last year or so, really come to love giant mortises and tenons. They allow an incredible amount of freedom and departure of stem and airway angle. I regularly use 7/16", 1/2", and even 5/8". Nice pipe, Wayne! That's one I would pick up at a show and try to convince...

I'm taking the Summer Off. Don't wanna move too fast, move at all, don't even wanna talk fast, takes too much energy, generates too much heat.
Re: bulldog
Actually, Ernie, if you bother to look at one, most bulldogs have a slight taper to the shank. :P Rad I dunno Rad....my Bulldog doesn't seem to taper much at all from one end to the other... http://i.imgur.com/fH3Oz.jpg Well, actually, Simeon, your Bulldog has a couple of technical issues... 1. Re: A day of pipe related plants.
Its not open air, the plants are housed within giant biomes, check out the link above and you will see what I mean. I don't blame them really as I would not want to see cigarette related litter around, not to mention the serious risk of fire in the hot dry climate of the temperate biome. Glad you e...

Re: Pipe Maker From Australia
Horrible. Go away! Glad you found us here, Rolf. Rad and Bruce and Kurt and Ernie and all three Todds are real pricks, but the rest of the gang seem okay. Sas, you're forgetting someone, I think. Nice pipe. Taspiper. I see definite talent, but you didn't push the stem all the way in. You're r...

Re: Tokutomi-Bo Nordh-Dublin Canadians Detail - Stem-Shank Faces
What I have been doing is trading off a perfectly smooth mirror finish which is only visible when the pipe is disassembled in order to achieve a perfect fit with no light cracks when the pipe is assembled. I'm not sure the two are mutually exclusive. I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying you k...

Re: by Julie Anne pipe for charity auction
Thanks for the most interesting post and video. I have seen several of her pipes over the past few years on her web site and at bisgaard's web site. This is posibly my favorite, so far. Amazing work of art. Before it was her "Hard Rock" pipe with the blue stem, or posibly, "Stars."

Re: Tokutomi-Bo Nordh-Dublin Canadians Detail - Stem-Shank Faces
I don't know, but it seems to me that a legitimate thread was started and has now turned to crap! I believe MM was simply making a point. True, the faces of the stems might have been blemished with taking them on and off, but the premise of having a smooth face is sound. Nicely put. That's exactly ...

Hmmm... I can't tell in the pics, but that could be from twisting the bit into place.... I'm pretty sure the deep, concentric scratches like the ones in these photos are lathe tool marks. Mike, I think Todd pushed one of your buttons. :P Rad ...Mike, even attempting the enemies-by-proxy route to fa...

Really excellent Volcano in every detail, and your timing could not be better with two recent Volcanos erupting in Iceland and Chile.

Re: Making the Morta Calabash
Maybe your photo's don't show it, but your pipe looks consistently, creamy white. Not to distract from your pipe, which is great looking, I think. I've never seen anything you made that wasn't (I don't want to borrow any money. I swear  ). Can you tell what kind of meershaum Arne Urup is using?...

Jez, I got so busy with all the bullshit, I forgot to comment on Sas's pipes. Damn.
Maybe a little late, but I think this big-ugly idea of yours may be working. Forgive me for the lack of fine point critique, but "Really Cool Pipes" (seriously).
