Thank Doc. That picture came through as I was typing. Thank you. This helps a lot. I am able to obtain kitty litter jugs also. I need to get a vac and some hoses. Then I think I am ready to take off the mask.

Re: Dust collection Help
Thank you Dogcatcher and Doc. I appreciate the help. I will have to live with the noise. My shop is really small. Outside the work area is the outside. Doc would you mind showing a picture of how the plastic jug is situated up to the buffer or sander? I have heard that some also put a box over the t...

Re: Recommendations for belt sander.
Yes, I agree with the dust collection. That is in the plan for my next add to the shop. I will take some pictures of the back when I get home tonight. I got the idea from a duck decoy sight.

Re: Pipe #16
Thank you DocAitch for the advise. I will do more studding shapes and reading this forum. No problem about the stem. I need to remember that I can reshape the stems. I use the pre shaped stems. Because I don't think I have the tools or know what to do with the stock from scratch. I do plan to learn ...
Re: Pipe #15
RickB, your right its easy to worry about taking to much off or getting it to thin while shaping.
Latakialover, I will find a shape to copy.
I still struggle with getting the bowl symmetrical.

Re: Pipe #16
Thank you DocAitch. So the shank should be narrower and have more radius where it joins the bowl? The stem was a pre formed stem that came like that. I wasn't sure what to do with it.
Re: Pipe #15
Thank you DocAitch, I will work on that. That would also give me a better line along the bottom.
Re: Pipe #15
Thank you. I see what you mean with the light reflection. and the dull area. I will work on the sanding and the straight lines.
Pipe #15
Please let me know what I can do to get better.
