Re: Wait, are you guys using delrin tenons?

This subject has been thrashed and trashed many a time here on this board. Oh yeah, I know! I was just personally interested to hear what each person was doing and what the current 'climate' for tenons was. Purely out of curiosity. I think I'm going to keep learning how to turn an integral tenon fo...

Wait, are you guys using delrin tenons?

I've been out of the game for a bit, but I was just starting to turn integral tenons right before I went on pipemaking hiatus. I was searching through some old posts to refresh myself on things like bit profile and whatnot when I started coming across posts suggesting a lot of people, including some...

Not really in the market, but....

...curious if you folks think this might be a good upgrade. Clist listing, from an estate sale. A Jet BD920N lathe, apparently purchased in 2006 and never removed from it's crate. They're asking $1150. Any opinions on whether or not I should snap this up (if I negotiate a few hundred off) would be g...

I can't find a dirty joke in that anywhere.
I didn't get it either; what's dirty about her filming George using his tool tonight? I, for one, am looking forward to watching a video of him working on his rod stock.

Re: RobEsArt

Hey Rob, just wanted to say hi. I was an Art major at WMU in the late nineties (did not graduate, however). I spent a few good years down in the Vine neighborhood. It's nice to meet another pipemaker in the area.

Re: wood checking/cracking.

I bought some unstabilized pen blanks a while back and then sent them out to have them stabilized. It took a little bit, but I remember the cost being pretty reasonable.

Thanks. I had a habit from the BBS era of using musical or literary references as a handle. I'm just reforming that in forums where I might want people to know me by my real name.
