Re: Ready for Spoon Bits?

Considering that there are still folks who have not paid, and that Brad won't begin on this project until at least 25 of the 27 listed do pay...I'm wondering how wise it was to tie up my money in a project that depends on the payments of individuals in a group buy. I don't wish to be impatient or h...

Fiebing's leather dye

I've been using Fiebing's regular leather dye for a while. Yesterday I placed an order for some more colors and I noticed the e-tailer also sold what is called Fiebing's Institutional leather dye. It's a water based dye. I want to give it a try and ordered three bottles. I was wondering if anyone he...

Royal Flush

Hello everybody,

I just added a brand new pipe yesterday. It's kind of a variation on the poker theme, hence the name "Royal Flush". You can find pics and specs on the site.

Happy puffing

Royal Flush

Hello everybody, I just added a brand new pipe today. It's kind of a variation on the poker theme, hence the name "Royal Flush". You can find pics and specs on the site. The price of this wonderful piece packed with birdseye is not "royal" in any way, being a mere 115 € or 165 $ ...

Try Al Pascia. At the moment they got 6 (!) of Cornelius Maenz's pipes for sale, 3 smooth ones and 3 sandblasted ones.
Knock yourself out!!!

Thanks, Olivier.

You bet you can smoke it. I did so about a dozen times since we made it. Performs great indeed.

Briarfox wrote:Very Beautiful pipe! I really like the Insert. If you don't mind me asking. Did you sand the taper on the insert by hand or did you turn the taper on the lathe?
Thanks for the compliment, Chris.
The extension is on the stem side and was shaped with the sanding disc and by hand sanding.

Thanks, Android. The shape is similar but not quite the same as the Geiger's Fat Dubliner. Credit to them. :)

alan wrote:Beautiful! How big is it? Looks like you could break someone's jaw with it, if the need were to arise.
It's not a big pipe, Alan. 5.3 inches long, 2.3 inches high, bowl width 1.9 x 2.3 inches (at the top), the tobacco chamber is 0.7 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep.

L & S & D Pipe

What do you think of this one, guys?
I made this pipe with a lot of help of Love and Sara Geiger. I spend five days over at their place in Sweden to finetune my pipemaking. Had a great time!

Thanks, guys, for the advice. I'll stick to the traditional way of doing things. I'm waiting for my first delivery of shellac in the mail, can't wait to try it out (without the added colouring of course). I had a problem in the past with a red coloured pipe where the stain came of a bit during the f...

mixing shellac with colours

I don't know if this topic has been dealt with before but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to mix shellac with a leather die and applie it to a stummel.
So instead of colouring first and applying shellac afterwards you could do it all at once.
