Cutty vario

Finished this one yesterday and would love your thoughts on it. It's small and light. 12 cm and 32 gram. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6180/6165700156_7125c92dc1_z.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6163/6165168815_b295aa32b6_z.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6172/6165701938_1c9840eeea_z.jpg htt...

Well, a first try is a first try.... This one was a b***h to buff and polish. How do you guys manage with edges like that and still have the lines crisp? Anyway, fire away. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6076/6155290236_2e2f0d9024_z.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6204/6155290424_c2b0a6b4e0_z.jpg...

Dublin sitter (or so)

I don't know about this pipe. Something doesn't feel right about it. Do I would love for someone with a better eye than me to give there critique. I'm a lil bit pleased that I manage to get the grain somewhat "organized". Although it might have been better made in some other way. Comment a...

Re: Just finished

Thanks for your comments. @Kurt: Believe it or not but the "bulgyness" was a choice I made. Thought it looked a bit, hrm, organic, or so. I was pondering making the stem thinner but was afraid it would look to hard or cold in feel. Well, just shows how much I still have to learn. With the ...

I'm quite happy about this pipe. In my opinion it might be the best pipe I made so far. Almost like a real pipe! That's why I need you to shoot me down from my high horse and put be back in place. With your comments, of course... :D http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6081/6032914110_7ae2bfb1b2_z.jpg htt...

Re: Smoking?

I totally missed this thread. I actually never went to the tobacco section on this forum.

I'm smoking my own mixture of ready rubbed virgina flake and black cavendish. About 50/50 of each. In a Engstrand rusticated halfbent brandy... :D

Re: Not as cool as Walles but....

Thank you for your kind words, gentlemen. One thing I'm wondering is how much you guys think that that blind spot on the side of the brandy disturbs? I thought about rusticating the whole thing but I made it for a friend and he wanted it smooth. @frazeeg. Well, I'm selling the Billiard on ebay right...

Re: Not as cool as Walles but....

Thanks for your comments. The diamond thing on the bottom was more of "I wonder if I can do this" than an actual design thought regarding the grain. In hindsight it might have been better to not do it. And easier to... :D

Does German has emission standards for pipes?!
A lot of Germans smoke pipes with 9 mm filter. Around 90% I read somewhere.

Re: Not as cool as Walles but....

I think the shank is a hair too long on the billiard. If only I had the skill to shorten the stem and keep a good fit after the shape is done. I guess that would be easier with a lathe.... Is that a sandblast? If so, the rim should be blasted, or rounded and smooth. No, it's rusticated. But the sam...

Not as cool as Walles but....

...here we go. In need of some good, honest, harsh, butt kicking critique. Posting two pipes. Both with 9 mm filter (I do live in Germany...). One Billiard and one Bent brandy. So guys. Go at it! Re: Help With Setting Up a Web Page

I'm using weebly. I find it pretty uncomplicated and I have absolutely no experience with webdesign or computers whatsoever. If it looks good is another question. Might be one of the reasons why I don't sell any pipes.... Weebly homepage: http://www.weebly.com/ My homepage, as a reference: htt...

Re: 10-11 'Esquire'

I can only echo the others. I would be smiling with pride and joy if I made a pipe like this. The only thing that "bothers" me is the stamping. I think your personalized stamp looks cool but the numbers under it makes the stamping look a bit, don't know, inelegant maybe? On the other hand ...
