Re: Smoker's Haven Meetup (Mid-West Meetup)
Indeed that was a blast! Thanks to Premal and the Smokers Haven crew for inviting, and putting up with a shop full of pipe makers. It was great seeing friends and meeting new ones. My mouth still feels like 180 grit.

Re: Buffing Damaging Stem
I've had the same problem in the same areas that your describing before with my tripoli wheel. I think my problem was being a little too aggressive and buffing against the edges. Now when I'm buffing the button or any other hard line, I buff following edge or I'll buff with the wheel coming off of ...

One question, where'd you get that fancy indicator you have mounted to the tailstock?

Re: Hand Cut Stems with Lathe
You could always get rid of the lathe and buy a 5 or 7 axis milling machine. All you have to do then is just press go and bam you have a pipe and stem. But really, what everyone else said. Abe At one time while I was still hobby making I did have similar ideas. I am very interested in engineering a...

Thanks guys.
Charl, I agree with your two observations. The back of bowls always seems to be a tough spot for me, though I'm slowly getting better with that area.

Great pipe!
I agree with you Wayne, I love to use some of the colored cumberland myself. But, I just can't seem to find the right combination. Maybe I'll try to get some pointers from Nate.

This is a pretty good program. I keep on hoping to get a good view of Hatfields pipe. The pipe looks like a Belge or Cutty to me.
