Re: Summer Edition of P&T Magazine - Crappy !
Adios, chaps. "scotties22" indication that he wants to choke me is indicative of bullying schoolyard behavior, and not appropriate for what I thought was a professionally oriented forum.

Re: Summer Edition of P&T Magazine - Crappy !
Apologies: 1 - I posted this thread twice, as I was not sure which category to put it in. I know: naïve ! stupid ! 2 - My expression of irritation was based on the view (my view) that the cover photo on the P&T Magazine was selected based on some tangible / intangible assessment of the quality /...

Re: Summer Edition of P&T Magazine - Crappy !
I respect everyone's view in responding to my original post. We all have views, and I have mine. "Top billing" on a Magazine cover is not trivial in impact in any case.

Summer Edition of P&T Magazine - Crappy !
I am bitterly disappointed with the Summer 2013 issue of the P&T Magazine! There is an article inside about Joe Skoda, who is one of the finest pipe makers in the USA / World (in my view), yet the cover photo is of a "Gear Pump" / "Steam Punk" pipe !!!!! No offense to the art...

Re: Check This Out
I wonder how many neophyte pipe smokers in China itself have been sucked into this site and have been ripped off???? (Neglecting those elsewhere as well!).

Blending References?
I have fiddled with blends a bit (added a bit more Perique to some Virginia blends, a bit of blending Orientals, etc.), but I have never really tried to create a blend from "scratch". A number of suppliers sell blending Perique, Latakia, Orientals, Burley, etc. The question is: Is there a ...

Straw Poll - Interest in a Houston, Texas Pipe Club?
As far as I can tell, there is not an extant Pipe Club in Houston, Texas (if I am wrong in this, I would be pleased to be corrected, as well as provided with information on such a club). Presuming that there is not an extant club, who would be interested in joining / attending meetings? No commitmen...

Re: Pipe socks...
A number of years ago (8 or 9), a fellow had some pipe socks on e-bay that he had his wife make from an old Harris tweed jacket. I was lucky enough to pick one up that had the Harris tweed label sewn on it as well.....It is the heaviest and thickest pipe sock I have, and it is big enough for a Magnu...

Rust inside of Samuel Gawith Cellared Tins
I popped a tin of Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake today; I have had the tin for about 3 years. I noticed that the inside of the tin was starting to rust a bit. The tins do not seem to be coated to be rust-resistant like the C&D and McClelland tins. The tobacco is packed in some foil covered pa...
