Re: Third Pipe - Criticism Appreciated
I think you succeeded in making a pipe resembling the one in your picture except for 1 spot, being the front end of the stummel.
The lower front end of your pipe has quite a bit of wood left where the one in your picture rises alot sooner and smoother.
All in all a very pretty pipe in my opinion!

getting slightly impatient
Last year I tried my first hand at pipecarving with a pre drilled block. I greatly enjoyed myself, and decided this was going to be my new hobby. Since my previous hobby was building vivaria and aquaria I was quite sure I would enjoy this for quite some time (I've always enjoyed using powertools and...

Thanks, Massis. I'm glad someone here understands how a forum works. Actually, it was Sasquatch that first pointed out Boekweg's faux pas. Just setting the record straight. Rad You should see the crap we have to put up with sometimes on the dutch pipe smokers forums (pijprokersforum.nl...

Re: Help With Setting Up a Web Page
this might sound stupid, but a $300 website will probably be cheaper than a $50 one. If you plan on using it as your main outlet for pipes, make sure it's a decent website which looks nice and up to date, is technically built well and most of all: easy to navigate and understand. If your website loo...

Re: Group Ebonite buy
If you're buying from germany it might be interesting to have it shipped to someone in Europe and ship it from there? I should be able to send up to 5kg's of ebonite to the USA for 42USD. (10kg would be 82USD, 20kg would be 126USD) Max packet size is 4ft 11" long and 1ft 3" diameter, so th...

Boekweg, I think you should calm down a bit. It's fairly normal on a forum for the first one who comes along and knows the answer to reply, as Rad did. (whoops, sorry for stepping in Rad!) In no way can I see Rad trying to get on your nerves in these last posts (hey, there's a first time for everyth...

I think you did a really nice job on the rustication of no3. The added rings to the bottom of the stummel are a nice addition and they're nicely finished. The only thing I think you need to work on for that pipe is the stem/shank transition. I believe this pipe would look alot better if it were a fl...

you have to admit, the stem/shank transition is flush ![Very Happy :-D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
But then again, I don't have a right to judge in this matter, as I have the same if not less experience than mr Boekweg. (Just a note: Boekweg means "book gone" in Dutch

Re: Chinrester
The little piece on the end is separate from the stummel. He drilled two air holes at a right angle and used that piece to plug the hole that runs to the chamber. Makes for a dramatic shape. That makes me wonder: can you use such a plug without fixing it to the rest of the pipe? Looks like an easy ...
