Same as boekweg here. Building my own, and I hope it'll look as good as yours!
Do you mind if I borrow the dremel table idea? I'm always completely covered in dust after using my dremel...
PS: is it always that tidy? Nearly looks like a hospital in there!

nice (non-)customer support from Leaseweb! I'm guessing they didn't have an explanation, smokerpipe.com is offline again.

Re: Check This Out
Well, guys, it looks like I've had some success getting this site shut down. The domain still exists, but at least the hosting provider has pulled the account and shut down the server. I forget when I sent them an email - Maybe Friday night. The site was still active at 06:30 this morning, so accou...

Re: Why can't my bandsaw cut like this?
$1000 boekweg? I bought a 2nd hand bandsaw from Electra Beckum, a subbrand for Metabo. Cuts up to 160mm height, has 2 speeds and all the settings I'll ever need. It cost me €200 (approx. $275). Two days before I bought it, I allmost bought it's smaller brother, for €175 ($235-240), which would be ab...

Re: Drill Press Mod...
The long answer is - there's no such thing. To get a bigger drill press, you need to... get a bigger drill press. Not entirely correct Kurt, I bought a Quantum drill press (the B16 model) last year, but found the column wasn't high enough to use a decent vice and still have room for a spade bit. I ...

Re: P1411 - Thor....
as usual a very beautiful pipe tNd. However, I feel this is one of your lesser pipes of recent weeks. Here's why: First of all, I think the bevel on the edge of the bowl is a bit off, is the bowl actually oval, or is it just the angle of the pictures? Secondly, the narrow smooth part on the back of ...

Re: Anone have the J.T. Cooke pipe making DVD?
If there is anyone in the UK or Europe that wants a copy I can easily go and buy a few blank DVDs and run off some copies. Would certainly be happy to do that as long as they cover postage and maybe a beer  Not sure about how easy it would be to send a little gift to Jim, sending a cheque from...
Re: 11-03
I think the optical illusion of the reverse taper is caused by the heavy underside of the stummel, which makes the shank look extra thin near the stummel. I think it would make a very handsome pipe if you started the taper on the stem a bit earlier towards the shank, thus also decreasing the taper's...

Re: the future pipe smokers???
I know this is an old topic, but it's no doubt still as relevant as ever. This article on increasing use of tobacco pipes in US colleges might be of interest: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123509294170728733.html Maybe there is hope for a future generation of pipe smokers. I myself am probably yo...

Re: First post- not first pipe
I like the stummel, the grain is nice and straight. The shape is nicely defined and I like the blank spot on the bottom.
The shank and mouthpiece have a nice flow to it, but I do believe it would look alot better with a slightly less bent stem... This one is bent a bit extreme to my taste..

Re: 11-03
I don't know if it's the pictures, just me, or actually there, but it looks as if the stem actually tapers out from the shank and then back in again... I'd say smoothen the taper on the mouthpiece and you've got a very pretty pipe. A very special stain job aswell, looks a bit rust-coloured in some a...

Re: lovat time
I like the grain and the staining/polishing, but in my opinion the shank and stem are a bit too big.
Also, it looks as if the stem and shank aren't entirely flush?

WOW! That is an absolutely stunning pipe!
Not only is the shape so very beautiful, it also follows the grain exceptionally well. Time and time again you surprise me with your pipes Abi!
I'm usually not a big fan of fancy coloured stems, but this one matches the pipe perfectly.
