A minimalist desk for out office.

http://thisplaceisastranger.com/files/IMG_0325.JPG The picture above shows the desk in its nearly done state. The only thing it lacks is some bamboo cut and placed like quarter round, around the edges of the desk that meet the wall. for an exact break down of the process and more pictures you can c...

Re: Latest knife project

Hey man yeah thanks for the extra push. That is the group she and I have been thinking about exploring. We went for a walkthrough one monday and it only cost like $30 a year, which I found to be an incredible steal. It is definitely the route we plan on starting with. But Once he gets his up and goi...

When your forge becomes successful please post the plans. My girlfriend and I have been wanting to get into blacksmithing, and if I could just have a forge in the backyard....even better.

Re: Delta Mini Lathe LA200

Thank you both. Kurt that is a perfect reply if I have ever seen one. I have some spade bits to grind down, i figured that to be the best method for me, and relatively cheap given the expense of everything else. As for forstner bits I also have that covered. The lathe comes with a few cheap turning ...

Re: Severe weather pipes?

A few weeks later and in the same area as before the weather was beautiful: clear skies and warm breezes. There had been some recent flooding in the area but it wasn't raining when I was there. It was another learning experience, though, as I hadn't realized swamps were possible on vertical hillsid...

Delta Mini Lathe LA200

I have found one available in my area with bed extension for $200 cash, but am unsure if it could be made into a good tool for pipemaking or what the cost for proper tooling to start might be.

Re: Drilling Question

Can we get a sticky from Kurt and Tyler about Lathes and tools required to use them. A general knowledge of beginning your setup and what knowledge you can recommend for the beginning lathe user, outside of using it of course?

Re: Crooked Cutty

One of the many things I enjoy about your work, is that you play so much with the eye. The angles and sharp but soft edges you put on your pipes is the type of work of which I am focused.

However, you do classic shapes with even more intent, and its obvious the quality present in what you do.

Re: dos nuevos

I have to say, I hate blasted pipes, the blast to me steals way too much focus and doesn't give the eye a line to meet. With that said this is one of the few I would smoke, the second pipe you made with the partial blast. It has a great line and length, and the way the smooth meets the blast really ...

That is a really neat article. Seeing the history of the country and how basic things started, even in the pipe making world.

Re: Gun kits

I think the whole trying new things is a Man mentality. Boys will be boys if you will. I know very few people who like to try new things, and experience new adventures, whether intellectual or physical. And of course I know even fewer men. And by men, I mean those in control of their own lives, whic...
