and Todd i think i heard of a 3/8 parting tool can be used a a negative rake scraper

and what tool would you use to turn into the wood like this

your pipe making instructional was very helpful as well loved it

hey thanks sas is along the axis the type of turning he is doing w/ the tool rest not parallel to the bowl but more of a plunge cut into it it seems like the making of a blakemar pipe on youtube is basically doing the same it seems like safer turning than having the tool rest parallel to the work pi...

has anyone watched the making of a dunhill pipe video

if so is that a reg skew chisel the turner is using to turn the bowl and shank

has anyone ever turned a pipe like this

and if so what other kind of tool can be used a parting tool square scraper a bedan tool

thanks everyone

what i have on my bandsaw now is a reg tooth bandsaw blade cuts ok but nothing to write home about

so will give a hook tooth blade a go

Just got my jaws from smokindawg to mount on my oneway talon chuck if you have a wood lathe with a woodturning chuck (oneway nova etc) you should really consider buying a pair of jaws from smokindawg they are easy to mount(just follow his instructions) and they are very well made they grip excellant...

just curious what is a good way to cut stainless steel tubing. I am using a hacksaw and it just really doesn t work very well just trying to find an easier way
