In my humble opinion. The bowl is too big for the shank both in diameter and height, thus making the pipe look unbalanced. Derlin is not rocket science.

I have gotten mine from McMaster-Carr and Vermont Freehand and both work just fine.

If your Derlin is not exactly 8mm then find at drill bit that will work with the Derlin you have.
