Re: I'm almost a pipe maker!

Dawg you make great pipes, just need to clean the lines up and give the pipe more definition IMO.

Re: 3 New Billiards

I dont think I'm qualified to critique these pipes, but....... The second pipe, the sandblast has left the shank visibly just slightly smaller than the stem. I dont know if thats really such a bad thing, just something I notice in the pics. The finish is interesting on the third, rustic looking, but...

Re: New pipe 011 - "Andrea"

I can see your point Wayne, the lines of wire rustication does compliment the lines of the grain in a lot of ways. I think I would like the pipe most if the front and back were sandblasted like baron mentioned, but who knows ? It is a beautiful design as it is already. Baronstrasil; I think your tra...

Re: Bamboo Pipe, it's been a while!

Looked much bigger than a kiseru, but I had to ask.
Heres your one stop shop for Dokha, Kizami, Kiseru and Medwakh
http://medwakh.com/index.php?option=com ... Itemid=435

Never ordered from them, but I've been giving it a lot of thought.

Also remember, I have never made a pipe :)
I am only writing as a pipe smoker with some idea of what he likes in art and pipes.

Re: New pipe 011 - "Andrea"

My only criticism of it, I dont care for the wire brush rustication.
Everything else about the pipe is so elegant, the wire rustication seems too simple.
Maybe there is just so much of it on the pipe, but I would prefer to see a different technique and a different look to those areas.

Beautiful.
Do you smoke Kizami in this pipe, or regular pipe tobacco ?

Re: P1811 - E.T.

This is why I like looking at your pipes !
I won't say that every one of your pipes is my style, but this one really speaks to me.
Beautiful execution, and all of the elements seem to balance very well.
A very impressive shape, very busy but with lots of harmony.
Did I mention I like it :)

Very nice use of grain. There is a lot of harmony in the shape and elegant flow of the lines.
I like it.

Re: Third pipe, First Rhodesian!

Looks a little chunky to my eye. I'd put her on a beltsander diet, and take her out when shes lost a couple ounces. It would define more of the lines on the pipe too, which I think is a bit lacking especially around the bottom of the bowl. I think the freehand nature of the shank works, with its sof...

Re: #1114

Beautiful pipe ! I havent made a pipe yet, so this is my impression as a pipesmoker not a pipemaker. I would have considered a saddle bit so that maybe 1/2 of the stem would match the diameter of the shank on the other side of the bamboo. As it is, the taper begins abruptly at the stem and doesn't h...

Dont get me wrong, you did an awesome job on the shape here.
I figured the picture probably exaggerated it a bit.

I have seen many of your pipes that I like a lot, but some of them were not my taste. What I see is that you are not afraid to experiment, and create something unique. When you step outside of what everyone else is doing, you will find many people who like it, many who dont. You could always make pi...

Beautiful work, really great job on this bulldog.
The only critique I have is the picture of the front of the bowl, where it appears the two sides are not even.

Awesome man. I would think you can make the tobacco much better with some work and casing, but I wouldnt have the faintest clue how to go about it.
Maybe Cocoa and vanilla for a start

Re: More billiards... and more and more and more!

You certainly have a way with grain.
Very classy classic looking finishes.
Except for that last monstrosity.
I'll give you $35 and an open pouch of Captain Black for it.
(only a couple bowls missing, really quite a deal on your end)
