Re: Tandy Leather Finish for Briar Stain
Thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna apply it to one of my pipes. If it kills me, I'll post a warning for you folks.

Tandy Leather Finish for Briar Stain
From my 20 minute foray into belt making back in the mid 70's I still have an old can of Neat-Lac leather finish . It contains Toluol. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. I won't be drinking it. Harmful vapors, too. It's old but intact. I put some on a piece of briar and it really brought out the grain a...

Thanks, Sas. I'll try that today. Ya, that bird thing: A bird in hand is a bird that is easier to apply salt to, too.

Board Stretchers and Unicorns
Like the ever elusive board stretcher and Unicorn, is there a way to make a big draft hole (button end-5/32") into a 1/16" hole without having to master time travel, first? This error on my first stem; It's Cumberland stock and I like the stem but it's like drawing smoke out of a didgerido...

That black kit is quite nice. Quite an array of cymbals, too.

Re: Music!
I'm new to this site and am enjoying it very much. Not only has it been a valuable resource for learning pipe making, it also seems to be a place filled with interesting and varied folk. Then, I stumble across a thread that mentions stuff like Fripp, Zappa, and the like. How cool is this? It's like ...

Compound rest for Delta Midi Lathe
Is there a compound rest that can be retrofitted to my Delta Midi Lathe? I've checked this forum extensively for the answer and eBay for a rest that would suffice but am not approaching enlightenment. Also: This site is like Pipe Making College with free tuition and I like it here! I've been making ...
