i agree Kurt you do not need a custom chuck to make pipes - but it sure makes things a lot easier. I did not understand the use of pins until i watched the JT Cooke video - with a mark on the lathe i always know the depth of my drill bits. thanks jeff just two more questions and i will be set. I am using the jet bd-920 what rpms do you use to drill on your jet- 130 is the lowest rmp setting can you go to slow.
