Hi Steven, Thanks for the comments, they are truly valued. I do agree with the balance issue, after I had the pipe pretty much shaped I show it to a pipe smoker that I work with. He looked at it and told me to take the extension off, trim down the shank and put a longer stem on it. I looked at it an...

Thanks Ben, yes I wish I could have squeezed out that flair all the way around the bottom but it just wasn't happening. The block was just too narrow. It definately turned out to be a fine block of wood. Oh and your comment about the stem being flush with the shank, that was I had originally planned...

Finally I have made a new pipe

Well it has been a while, but I have finally completed another pipe. Let me know what you guys think, I know the pics are not great. Hopefully I will get some time this weekend to take some better pictures of this pipe. http://www.quinnpipes.com/Pipe12/Pipe12-1a.jpg http://www.quinnpipes.com/Pipe12/...

You might want to try craigslist.com. It does not have quite the exposure that ebay does, but it is growing and has quite a following.

I am no expert on classical shapes but they look very nice to me.

You did a great job with the pre-made stems, very cool.

Great work, can't wait to see your hand-cut stems.

I love the pipe Ben.

For me, the shape is very appealing, love the stem work and I am not usually a big fan of partial rustication but I love this one.

Very nice.

I have exchanged emails with him a few times since he left the forum. The last time I checked his web site it had not been updated in a month or so.

That is normal. What I usually do is after sanding the pipe, I wipe it down with a wet cotton ball. That usually cleans it up a bit before staining and buffing.

Thanks Dan,

Unfortunately I don't have one here in town, but there is one up the road in Charlotte...about an hour drive. It has been a while since I have been up there, sounds like a good reason for a road trip.

Thanks,
