Re: PITH 2018!!!!
Well I certainly didn’t want to post any excuses especially of this caliber. I am still working on it. I was hoping to finish tonight or tomorrow. I will get it done, but not till this weekend. Carry on without me if need be. I worked on it tonight for about an hour and then got a call from my landl...

Re: PITH 2017!!!!!!!
I don't want anyone to think I've forgotten, or decided to bail. I have two in process, but won't be able to work on them till next weekend. I will however get one done, just probably not until the last minute.

Re: PITH 2017!!!!!!!
Hi everyone, I would first off like to apologize for my short coming with last years PITH. Life had thrown some pretty challenging obstacles at me and of course my number one priority is my children. Now that things are starting to settle in and normalize I am getting my shop back in order and will ...

Re: Sandblasting
There is a difference between glass abrasive and glass bead. Abrasives cut, bead will peen and soften things a bit. I use them both accordingly and get nice results. And like Bruce said, some blocks will be more difficult than others. I've worked on a stummel for several one hour sessions before at ...

Re: PITH 2016!!!!!!
Hi Jeremy, I think that brass is the standard because the the durability, workability, and resemblance of it being gold, a desirable precious metal. SS is definitely a bear to work with because of its hardness, but is doable. Aluminum seems to be great for some applications for many reasons. It is u...

Re: PITH 2015
Nick, that blowout is a FEATURE!!!! You should stain the pipe a really light color and then stain that part black. You know, bruh....REALLY make it stand out!! Dude, I'd give ya like $65 for it. Sorry, think I was beamed up for a minute there  That one got bad...really bad. I've never had that...
Re: PITH 2015
Yes I received my pipe and gave critique. As far as the pipe I made, it should arrive to recipient early next week. I am terribly sorry for the delay but felt it was necessary to make a new, quality pipe that would best represent my work as well as provide a solid example. The first pictures are of ...
Re: PITH 2015
I had also run into some equipment failure which put me back a bit and also have been working 10-12 hours 7 days a week. I am getting close and should be finished this evening or Monday evening and will post pics ASAP. I've already contacted Seamonster to inform him I will ship it out on Tuesday or ...
Re: PITH 2015
Mine will most likely be a day late maybe two. I took a contract stone carving job that's had me working the last 9 days straight 10-12 hours a day. I'm whooped but still working on it and hope to finish it on Friday night but it may not be done till Saturday. I plan to take Sunday off and will fini...

Re: Straight Billiard
Thanks Premal, Unfortunately the were the best photos I could render, the others were to out of focus. I will take not of this for my next posting for critique. I do like the look of the higher chin. I know it's not the typical classic, but I have seen classics with a higher chin that I find to be m...
Re: PITH 2015
Ratimus! Please don't bail. You will not learn by bailing, and we've obviously got quite a few bailing already. I also have a half finished pipe. Even if you're are late finishing, or not your best work, finish it. Mine is already not proving to be my best work, and is non typical, but I will finish...

Re: Straight Billiard
Thank you gentlemen! I am really liking this critique offering. Notes have been taken, next straight billiard will show that I have listened. Also it will have a hand cut Cumberland stem. This is actually supposed to be a properly but quickly made billiard, and features an acrylic premold to cut som...

Straight Billiard
Critique please. I did use a pre mold acrylic stem, but of course modified almost every aspect of it. I'm pretty sure I know what could've been done to improve it, but if like to hear your thoughts. http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/ae77/Twisted_Whiskerz/F4E2EDBD-EDC4-4115-BB3E-19AFEE6C1A70.jpg htt...

Re: First attempt at a blowfish
The flat that wraps around the bowl should present straight cross grain, the bulbous cheeks should be Birdseye and flame.
