Re: Clear Acrylic rod stock

I haven't posted for a while and thought now would be a good time. I have two pipes with clear acrylic stems. (I didn't make them) Brand new they looked pretty cool. But after a few months of smoking, and even with good cleaning practices, they are discolored and kinda look like crap. I won't buy an...

Re: Extra bed for my Taig?

contrary to everything I read on this forum, I bought a Taig thinking I could turn briar on it. Even had some custom jaws made, which work, but there is nowhere near enough torque to turn wood. It's great for stems and other things I've been peckering around with. But listen to these people when the...

Re: Semois Impressions / Review Thread

I thought it might have been too dry but it burned fine. I'm not a sophisticated tobacco reviewer so all I can say is that it tastes like a fine cigar! I split it among 8-1/2 pint mason jars and stashed away seven. With the last one I rehydrated half of it and mixed it with the dry half. It now seem...

Re: Semois Pipe Tobacco: US Group Buy

Mine arrived today. I'm anxious to fire some up tonight but a little anxious. Rarely does reality equal the hype but I'm hoping it does in this case. Are people mixing the stuff first?

Re: Semois Pipe Tobacco: US Group Buy

Just wanted to let you know that I sent my payment to you and many thanks for taking on this job. It seemed like a simple thing at first but between a couple hundred posts and the spreadsheet you managed I realized what an large effort you put forth. Once again, many thanks!!!

Re: Semois Pipe Tobacco: US Group Buy

delrin and cumberland

I just got a hold of some cumberland and was anxious to get a stem going. I have gotten comfortable with delrin tenons and i was about ready to set it up when I thought..."this may look stupid with a black tenon. If I may ask what the consensus is among the pros. Turn an integral tenon to keep ...

Hello from another new member

Just wanted to say hello to all. I started making stems for my "bowl only" buys off ebay. That progressed so now I have hacked away at a few pieces of briar. I have three that I wouldn't be too embarassed to show someone (other than one of the pros). I already have learned a ton from the f...
