DanH, as someone who made approximately the same number of pipes as you, I congratulate you on your work. I know how much you learn with every single finished pipe, and how much joy they bring when they shine in all their glory. I like your Triangle pipe very much, great shape, great colour and exte...

Hi all, and, must say, GREAT, finally some advices and criticism. I was beginning to think that almost every of my pipes is flawless :D It is true, the air hole is some 1mm higher than the bottom of the tobacco chamber. This is something that was poorly prebored when this piece of briar came to me i...

My No.6

A while ago I made this lovely churchwarden for my brother, who is great fan of LOTR movies. His face expression when I gave him this pipe told me everything. I had a little bit of trouble with stem and it has a little flaw on the very top of it, but otherwise I'm more than satisfied how it turne ou...

yap, great advices can be found here. now I remembered, in one article this was written about sanding process "sand with sanding paper grit 400-1000, you will need lots of elbow grease"... back then, I didn't know about this forum so I asked on alt.smokers.pipes this question: "I mana...

Polishing of sterling silver band

Hi all, I would like to try putting sterling silver band on this next pipe that I'm making. I was wondering, if I put band on the pipe during the sanding process, and if I sand silver band along with the shank and stem so they fit perfectla with one another, can I polish it later? And if so, how do ...

My No.5

On Nr.5 I tryied rustication again and I'm very pleased how it turned out. From my perspective, best pipe I've made so far, and I managed to make her in one day. On bottom side of the pipe I've left one small part nonrusticated, hope that stamp will be there one day. Lit her yesterday, Peterson Spec...

My No.4

No.4 turned out very well, small and light pipe, very well sitter in left
hand. Haven't smoke her yet, i'm hoping it wouldn't burn very hot because of thinner walls on the top of the bawl.

My No.3

Because of big flaw in wood, I had to rusticate Nr.3, this my first time rusticating, and altogether I'm not satisfied how the pipe turned out. Not satisfied at all... Stem, shape, something is wrong with curves... But I finished her afterall. Rustication is also poorly done on some parts. But for s...

My No.2

Now, if you are willing and have time, here is my second pipe, made few days before christmas. It has a few flaws, but generally I'm very satisfied how it turned out. It smokes like a beauty, and it is very light and comfortable for holding with teeth. At first, I didn't like the lenght of the pipe,...
