Re: Sanding of tobacco chamber

Please, how do you sand stain spills in the end, after staining and polishing, so you dont damage or scratch the rim of the pipe bowl? Do you use some special technique or some gadget for sanding?

Re: My latest olive pipes

thank you. :)

i bought olivewood from here http://www.bollitopipe.it/ , they have normal olivewood and white olivewood.

To me, olivewood pipes are great, specially when I smoke latakia based tobaccos in them. They tend to get darker quicker than briar, but smokes great.

you need to try ;)

great looking pipe!

I noticed that you burned it on the bowl rim, did this happened while sanding?

Sanding of tobacco chamber

I have few questions...

- how many of you guys sand down your tobacco chambers, and to what grit of sand paper?

- after you stain your pipes, do you sand "spills" of stain in your chambers and when? How do you do this so you dont damage bowl rim?

Thank you for your answers!!

Re: My latest briar pipes

Thank you guys, really appreciate your comments. The second one was straight at first, and than I decided to bent the stem. When I bent it this lower part of stem/neck started to look like you've said. I wanted to make it little bit smaller but then it started to look pretty good somehow, and differ...

Re: morta

You don't have to wait 40.000years, morta that I have is "only" 8250 years old (I have certificate for those pieces that are around 6000years old). Croatia is full of it. Bosnia and Herzegovina also. So if you are for some digging, you know where to look for :D Hey Domba, I did a tour in ...

Re: My latest morta pipe

I sand all my pipes to grit 2500, then I buff them just like briar pipes. Buff them 3 times with carnauba, and heat them up after each buffing.

Hi! Thank you for posting your comments. I used this http://www.diytools.co.uk/diy/Images/DB ... 163437.jpg , hold it with a pliers.

I like this craggy rustication, it turns out great!
