I shaped at 120 grit and then soaked in black fieblings alcohol based die.
Sanding off with 220 I am to this stage and wondering if the little pixels of die in the red circle are imperfect sanding or just imperfect grain.

keep going with 220 or stain again and move on to 320?

using sumi ink to coat a new bowl

has anyone ever used sumi ink to 'carbonize' a new bowl?
the blocks of ink they sell to make calligraphy with are basically carbon and some binder (usually pine oil or something) and i was wondering if anyone has ever tried using this inside the bowl?

Has anyone used what is called a "French Polish" on briar? It is shellac and linseed oil mixed and then hand rubbed in a circular manner. It is used on certain finishes. Not sure on pipes though. If it can be used than can canuba wax be also applied to give more shine and protection? What ...
