My 2 latest

Here are my latest 2 pipes. Both are going to my dad for Father's Day and his birthday later this month. He is an occasional cigar smoker that my brother and I are going to introduce to pipes. The rusticated pipe is a 2nd that I finished in order to give him a bit more of a rotation to try the tobac...

If a thin blade is used, like a standard x-acto, it will skip as you scrape and mar up the stem.

No worries ScoJo, good discussion. And as for this: Also, I'd like to put in a plug for John Crosby as it is apparent that his shop is safer than Brad's. After all, I went there for a pipe making lesson and all I did was sand one of my fingers. Munkey goes to Brad's and ends up blasting a ball. You ...

Blasted Ball

I was fortunate to visit fellow PMF member Brad Pohlmann on his property in Oregon over Memorial Day weekend. On top of a great time hanging out, it was a good time of working on pipes. This is the first pipe I shaped before drilling. The process is very freeing and I was able to make some changes a...

Scott, it was great meeting you, too. I also enjoyed seeing your pipes, very nice work. I would also like to get to another show this year, but I'm not sure that will happen. If nothing else, Chicago is the show I will make every year. You are correct, I got my stamp made by Paul at A&M. I am fo...

Here is the small batch of pipes I took to Chicago as my official debut as a carver, and a detail of my stamp: http://scottandersonpipes.com/images/c2007/brandy01.jpg http://scottandersonpipes.com/images/c2007/lovat01.jpg http://scottandersonpipes.com/images/c2007/sitter01.jpg http://scottandersonpi...

Very well executed, Karol!

This is a very nice pipe, regardless of being your second, though it is even more impressive that it is.

Keep up the good work and keep sharing it here.

Pugmeister, It is a very nice pipe indeed. I love the bowl-stem junction and the grain, as well as the stain. Which one did you use? Well worth a stamp. --Michael (is it going to be posted on christianpipesmokers?) Thanks, Michael. I stained a few times with sandings between, but mostly Fiebing's m...

My latest

It took me forever to get this pipe done as other things have been keeping me out of the shop (like a baby on the way and a nesting wife who keeps me in a healthy honey-do list). Anyhow, here she is. It is the first pipe I've stamped and it is going to my oldest brother: http://gilariver.net/~munkey...

Hey Tom,

There are pics of jaws I had modified HERE

The guy who modified them for me is Trent Rudat and he charges about $200. I have been pleased with mine so far. He can be reached here:
