The beauty of freehand is it is subjective. I prefer how the first one the chambers touch, but like the color of the second one. Your symmetry on each chamber is a little wonky. I assume you intended them to be rounder. I would suggest reading threads on contrast staining. This shape would work much...

Steve, yeah they sure do. The only problem is my hands are still pretty dumb. So I chucked it up pretty deep. I will definitely be adjusting my depth on the next block. I think they are great. Hope you are well.

There is also the question wether the table is square to the bit. It could be out of square just a smidge. If you rotate the stem 180 does the gap move, increase, decrease?

I think the band would work better if it was not patterned. You don't need the silver bands. But if you add a black ring on the stummel side. Vt_freehand has sheet ebonite.
