Re: A little unorthodox

Yes the shank is all over the place but that is how that 2nd block of briar came all crazy missing wood from all angles. That raises a question for me. Was the block such that you were unable to place the shape within it to avoid those crazy spots? Yes indeed it was and the block was so short i cou...

Re: A little unorthodox

Interesting idea. The shank section is all over the place and would look a hell of a lot better if it was either straight or curved not a bit of both. The stem/shank junction needs work, no lips or gaps required, as does the shank bowl join. When working with clear stems you need to think about the...

Everything is perfectly drilled i took my sweet time in doing so. Good thing i always make the shank before i make the bowl. Thanks for the critique means a lot to me.

Sorry about your grandpa passing i am sure every time you smoke this beautiful pipe you will remember him in honor. As for the pipe it looks very nice to me and i like the pauduak ring a very nice touch added. As for the gap between the shank and stem im sure you can fix that in the long run. As alw...

Thank you Rad for the suggestion ill make sure not to put any more thin rims on a poker pipe. I was just trying to experiment new things.

Re: Billiardesian - Old Timer

Nice shank to bamboo execution but the stummel does not look well sanded to match the bowl. It almost looks like a billard and comes to a volcano type of pipe. Overall nice looking pipe thanks for sharing.

[quote="wdteipen"]I'm curious how the draw is on this pipe. Most artisan pipemakers will funnel the airway in the stem to allow for an open draw while keeping the vertical profile nice and thin at the bit end. Here's a photo of what I'm talking about: http://teipenpipes.com/wp-content/uplo...

Re: UniqueBriar,s Poker Pipe.

[quote="Sasquatch"] in this pipe, the look is especially accentuated. On the shank, the rustication is a couple mm lower than the smooth band at the stem. Yup your absolutely right about that 1 i hope never go to deep in rusticating the shank again. Thx for the POV Sas i really appreciate ...
