Re: Trying out contrast stain using different media?

Hi Sas thanks for that input. If you use a top sealer coat instead. Does that hold you to one finish color or do you tint the seal coat too?

Trying out contrast stain using different media?

Please ignore the poorly shaped stummel. This is from my box of failed attempts. I am not sure if I am headed the right direction or not. But, this was an attempt at contrast with different media. Med brown under yellow? Lots of reading both here and out on the interwebs. I'm still corn fused. Any a...

Re: oval shank zulu

Oh hey Kiel. I better go back and read my old msgs. Either way pipes look good. So, just to clarify no interest in magic wands. Every once in a while I suffer from mistaking someone. Typically I blame the rum. Darn that captain Morgan. Have a great week I will go stand in the corner where I've been ...

Hey Mike,
Congrats on selling this one. It is good to see you are back at it and doing a nice job as well. Hope all you and yours are well. Still waiting for a magic wand? Lol
Eric

Re: Matching motor, VFD and house current

Really with a 110v you could run a single phase or three phase 240v motor on a vfd. It is important to make the right selection. Regarding hp output and when being creative never select a vfd with bypass. It all has to do with amp draw and how you wire the drive. Credential 18 years Hvac service ins...

Hey Greg I'm down in Tracy. I'd have a bowl with you some time. Only if you want to listen to me drone on about my favorite tobacco. Oh and I make them too. Just for fun.

Re: Blowfish carving

Kirk, if may chime in on this. I have made four pipes to completion including hand cut stems. I had four in progress on the bench prior to packing up my workshop in anticipation of a move. When I started hanging out around PMF I could not understand everyone's love for the billiard. I had not really...

Disc for rough, wheel for finer. Tools are all packed up due to a move. Aching for briar dust in my nose.

Re: My 2nd PIPE

I swear I looked at a different pipe yesterday. Could have been the beer. The shape is wonky a little too heavy on the bowl end. The off center of the bowl. And the pipe in pics doesn't look to follow a circular curve.

Re: How does Maigurs do it?

I don't know James, I don't think you would find a tight enough tolerance in the pipes? I have a lot of scrap copper pipe I might try it
