Re: Dedicating Pipes
Wasn't his hyperbolic chamber just one big pipe he could sit in and enjoy?
Re: My # 23
Nice flowing curves throughout. I like it. What is the insert?

Re: Sasquatcho "Collection" KKKK
For a brief second there I thought you were dedicating a pipe to the KKK. Then, I saw the extra K.

Re: Starting out
One of the best learning experiences for me lately has been to seriously focus on those classic shapes. I've made a couple of divergences from that path but always come right back to “make a billiard” or a closely related shape when the briar says “I don’t want to be a billiard”. Ok so you’re a pot ...

Re: 121102 - Billiard Blast
Probably the best of what you've posted recently Brandon. Thank you. I have been a student of the Billiard. I really want to be able to nail this shape consistently. In terms of orthodoxy, I'd say your shank is a bit thick for the bowl - bowl height is okay, but it presents visually as a bit thin. ...

Re: 121103 - Billiard 3qtr Bent
This one's not ready for primetime, Brandon. Button is asymmetric top vs bottom and the cut work there is sloppy - sort of a ramp from the stem to the button, and that should be nice and crisp. Yep on the ramp dang it. I'm not seeing the asymmetry exactly. Far too much going on visually - this long...

Not a complaint or a slight. I just didn't know if you had seen that one. I've been thinking about copying it.

Re: Pipe #15- The Oris
The grain placement looks nice, especially on the shank. Is it the light or are there some flaws on the right side of the bowl in the first picture? I can't place it but something about the top of the bowl isn't marrying up with the rest of the pipe for me. I am a certified idiot though so it's prob...

Ok now that is out there. It makes me think of a tree trunk and an animals hoof combined. What is the metal band?

Re: Chimney "Sherlock Holmes"
I love the look but I also think the stem looks odd. There is a version from the first movie that is similar but from what I could tell, it had a saddle stem. Do you think that would make it look more streamlined?

121105 - Purple Cherrywood Lovat
I made this one as practice for a lovat. I used cherry for the stummel and reworked a stem that I previously screwed up. There's a little bit of a flare or outward taper of the shank towards the stem. I knew it was going to be strictly a keeper so I made a purple pipe for myself. I wish I could take...

FINALLY FINISHED IT! I've been putting off finishing this one. The endcap is olive. I hate that there is a flaw on the bottom but it is what it is. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b256/bandkbrooks/Pipes/121004%20-%20Volcano%20Blast/121004VolcanoBlast-Left.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b256...
