Nanna and Sixten video?

Many, many moons ago I saw a video clip about Nana Ivarsson and Sixten together. I've tried looking for it on the web, but to no avail. I do remember that it was in Danish (or maybe Swedish?).
Would love to see that again. Is there anybody that can help?

Re: something, something

Very cool, showing it again! I love looking at pipes that I made years ago that's been smoked, how it changed colour, how it's still holding up, see mistakes that I made.

Re: #15 Longshanked Dublin

I think the edge is fine.
If the shank was tapered and the stem longer, it would have made this pipe pop.

Re: Second completed Pipe. Blasted Billiard.

To add to the above: when applying a bowl coating, make sure that as much stain as possible is removed by sanding, else the bowl coating will not stay in those spots.
Rule of thumb regarding stem work on the lathe: drill slow, shape fast.
Good luck!

Re: #15

Working on just the shank/bowl joint will already do wonders. Front and back of bowl should normally be mirror images, if seen from the side.

Re: Workbench question for metal lathe

Interesting! So how did you apply the silicone? A blurb of silicone and then a spatula?

As an aside: how did you get the pipe so black? Paint?

Cool!
Way back, if I recall right, somebody else used a bit of manzanita and posted here on PMF. No idea who it was and if it might still be available if you use the search function.

Re: #14 Straight egg

Another little thing that to me doesn't work: don't taper the white accent. Rather leave it in line with the shank line and then round the edge towards the shankface off. If that makes sense?

Re: First attempt at an author shape

Difficult to say from that photo, but it looks as if you still have a lot of wood left on the backside of the bowl.
Rule of thumb in most cases is that the back and front should mimic each other, when seen from the side.
