Re: Chubby Bent Brandy

Thanks for your comments guys. I totally agree about the line bottom of shank to stem. The angle of the stem was wrong after I drilled it and I sort of tried to shape it in line instead of bending. Well, one more lesson learned.... The room I'm using now is only temporary. But by November I will hav...

Chubby Bent Brandy

Finished this the other day and would love your thoughts, comments and critique. It's rather chubby. 11 cm long. (Don't let the glass fool you. It's a shot glass....) http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6006/5922992116_2382626287_z.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6141/5922428389_66241b39e5_z.jpg http:...

Re: Ready for Spoon Bits?

I have to drop out, unfortunately. I'm a bit, well, financially challenged at the moment.
Unless you want to trade against a bunch of pipes....?

I think you spelled this wrong. It should be "Rad kind of poop out here".

Nice pipe. Although personally I find that that wooden ring on the stem takes to much attention.

Thanks for your comments, guys.

I'm specially curious what you think about the shank and stem on the volcano?

Two remakes

So, I caved in and did it. Went back to two old pipes and remade them a bit. Let me know what you think. Am I the only one that am not able to load the whole thing? For me the site only shows one page, or so, of the tutorial. And I really would like to read this since I bought myself a lathe looking thing the other day...

Re: Danish Rhodesian

Would really love to see a fine tuning on this one. I think it would be a great help to a lot of us guys to see the before and after pics on this pipe. I mean, it is a really nice pipe. I can somewhere feel that it could be refined in someway but I can't put my finger on it. The bend on the stem mos...

I did have a drill press mounted horizontal up until now. I might go for that option again.

Sanding motor

So, a month since moving to this new city, I finally got hold of a place to set up a workshop. I will have to do some upgrading and the most urgent is to get a new sanding set-up. I'm basically looking for a motor to attach sanding discs to. I stumbled upon this sanding system and am thinking it mig...

Re: panelled pot

Thanks for your comments guys.
There is certainly something not quite right with this pipe, I just can't put my finger on it either. It's probably the paneling. Maybe I'll just panel the whole thing....

panelled pot

This was an eye-opener. I need to get better at buffing! Among a lot of other things.... :D I was first about to make this into a rusticated pot but then I saw it had some nice cross grain I wanted to try and use. Well, at least I tried. There are a few things I'm not satisfied with on this pipe but...

Exactly that one, Jens.

Re: Oh no! Not another lathe question!

Thanks a lot guys.
And thanks Jens. I was thinking about exactly that machine. Found it at amazon for 999 euro. So your link is of course much better. :-)
Sorry, no. The one I found on amazon was the model bigger....
