Re: Re Do 1970s effort

I like your original. I can't think of many that are making real true 70's style freehands these days. Of course, theres still a billion of them floating around from the 70's.... But it would be kind of neat to see a guy pick it up and run with it again.

Re: Ceramic Pipe Fix

Unfortunately the majority of these pipes were souvenir quality and wouldn't stand up to real use. The best way to fix that is chuck it in the trash and find a clay meant to be smoked. LePeltier makes double wall clays meant for use and aren't terribly expensive.

Smart enough to get the hell out of professional academics at any rate.
Glad you dumbed it down for us ! The world of academics doesnt need a Sasquatch half as much as the world of pipe smokers do.

Re: PITH 2016!!!!!!

There needs to be at least one good pipe in the lineup, so I'm in. Military Mount all the way. If anybody is too broke for a military drill bit, but really wants to participate, I may could loan one out for the project. Of course the consequence for not returning it far outweigh it's monetary value,...

Re: FrankenPipe

Epoxy in the bowl bothers me, just because of the chemical nature of it. Actually, anything in the bowl would bother me personally but I would have suggested Elmers Wood Glue for the repair. Not because I'd like to smoke it, but Missouri Meerschaum uses something similar to Elmers in their pipes, an...

I didn't know crying with us was an option. Can we organize this as a group event in Chicago ? Maybe we can get some tent space Friday night.

Looks good. I remember someone writing that they cut the tobacco in ribbons and toasted it in a pan on the stove with vanilla extract and got a very nice aromatic.

Re: Someone help me with this

It's actually kind of a neat pipe in person. In pictures it looks pretty funky but kind of cool in person. Someone I was talking to won one in Vegas.
The pipe is made by Tom Eltang via Pia Pipes.
