Picked up one of these last night

Post by Nick »

I picked up a tenon cutter last night at the hardware store. The tenons I've been using are 9/32nds from Mark Tinsky. This cutter was 5/16, and I figure sanding off 1/32nd wouldn't be a big deal at all. I'm hoping it'll work well, but we'll see. I kept the receipt. Looks like it will take a very steady hand.

Ohh, here's the link:

What do you all think?

That looks great to me! If they work properly it's got to be better than constantly trying to adjust the Pimo tool (and cheaper too!)

Tha set would be cool for making briar plugs to use as sleeves. Any chance you'd be interested in selling me the larger the 5/8" one and maybe the 1/2"? Those are not likely to be good for a stem tenon, but they are the sizes I most use for sleeves.

These are sold individually at my local Ace hardware store. Unfortunately they don't carry the 1/4" size, as I thought that might really be handy to have.

I picked up the 3/8" size for $6.99 though.

OK...I'll go check my local Ace Hardware out.

Thanks for the idea!

I picked it up singly as well at Lowes. I would have linked it there, but they didn't show it in their online inventory. But this was the same thing. So far so good. Haven't menned with it all that much just yet.
