silver fittings

Post by JHowell »

Anybody else have any interest in silver fittings for military mounts? It's on my list of things to do, and I have lots to learn about silversmithing in general, but I do have a friend with a Haas CNC mini-mill in his garage, and it must be possible to make dies to press the fittings out of sheet. If anybody else is thinking along similar lines, this might be a good place to pool information.

If all you're looking for is silver rings, look at any knifemaker's supply store - like Jantz Supply for instance. They have inexpensive nickel silver rings designed for accent pieces on knife handles, but would work well as a stem ring.
