Kirk,

Check out www.pipemakers.org, they're the company who bought out Joe Giardina (sp?). Andrea is great and ships pretty quickly. I believe that they have many different colors of lucite rod stock, though it is not listed on the site. Just give them a call and Andrea will hook you up. Their cost is about $9 for 18".

I'm not a member of the Internet Police that likes to jump on folks for violations of 'net ethics such as top posting on newsgroups or OT posting without marking "OT," but I'll play that role in this instance. What is pipemakers.org doing with a .org domain when it is clearly a commercial enterprise?

One reason, I'm sure, is pipemakers.com was taken, as is pipemaking.com and pipemakingsupplies.com. It just so happens that I know the fellow that owns some of those.

Pretty shnazzy looking ecommerce site there Tyler. Can't wait to see it up.

I agree with you on the .org thing. Clearly a commercial site.

Unfortunately, the use .com for commercial sites aqnd .org for non-profit organizations, pretty much went out the window when Verisign realized that it could make double or triple it's money for each domain registration.

It all boils down to corporate greed....

I bought a few rods from Joe G back when he ran the business. At the time I was looking for a true bright white, and his stock was more milk-white, but it's quite nice stuff. Be warned that it machines very differently than many other colors of his acrylic rods, and is much more powdery in texture when drilled. I ended up abandoning an idea for a whte-stemmed churchwarden Christmas pipe some years back because it proved to be nearly impossible to get a smooth, jam-free drilling through a long section of the stuff.
