PME Cumberland

Post by The Smoking Yeti »

Hey, just a quick question. Is PME's Cumberland rod stock good stuff? Cus' it's a 10dollars off special right now.... and I need cumberland. To buy? Or not to buy?

There's only one place that makes "cumberland", so if it's being sold at a good price, definitely grab some. The other stuff that PME sells is the SEM stuff, which while decent ebonite, does not have the same swirl pattern as cumberland. They do tend to differentiate between the two.

PME has the proper cumberland. They don't have that red swirl ebonite right now (or didn't a month or two ago).

The "good stuff" is dark and beautiful, but fairly soft.

Hey thanks for this thread, I just called and ordered a couple rods myself.

I used some of PME's colored Ebonite, the Coyote Brown, on a commission over the weekend. Soft but easy to work with. Did a Saddle Stem and thought the part past the shoulder looked sharp. The shoulder itself though didn't give the color difference that cumberland does though, imho. (pics here if that didn't make sense)

Have any pics? The stuff I've always seen that they make would not be mistaken for the NYH version.

I don't but the SEM gal showed it to me at the last Chicago show. I don't know if I would be able to tell the two apart.

Are you suggesting that Bruce has The Clap? I wasn't aware that could be spread through the ears.

The dildo was Ebonite. And the result of that was that she was banned from the show for a couple of years. This past show was the first time she was back, I think.
