Where to buy 5/16" Delrin?

Post by Bobostro61 »

Where do you get yours from?

I was thinking of buying 3 feet of it so I'd have plenty on hand to cover my screw ups making my first tenons. I found a place that has it for .95 a foot. I was going to have it cut in to 1 foot lengths, but that was an extra $15 (for $3 of delrin).

McMaster Carr - www.mcmaster.com. It's $.78 a foot for black, 5/16 delrin.

I think the best place is online metals. I've bought it at three different places, and that's the most consistent diameter-wise. If you have problems with diameter, you may want to buy machine reamers just under 5/16" (.3120, .3115, .3110, or whatever fits your stuff) so you can always get a snug fit.

Almost all of the machine tool supply companies sell delrin. I usually add some to every order I place.

mcmastercarr, enco, grizzly, wholesale tool, etc....

I've had equally good luck with Online Metals and McMaster-Carr.
