Bend or no bend...

First time trying to make a pipe in more than three years...probably shouldn't have started with a horn (Just always wanted one.) Anyway, please excuse the poor shaping. I'm not finished as I will likely dome the rim. Anyway, my question is geared toward the stem.

Would you guys bend it upward to match the curve of the stummel or leave it like it is? Thanks for your help.

If it is for cigars don't bend.

For pipe tobacco bend up.

I would bend it. I have a similar horn with just a bit more curve to the stummel and I like it. With the bend in the stem it puts the top of the pipe somewhere near eye level but thats ok with me.

If you don't bend you won't be able to see the chamber when you smoke it. If you do bend you will.

Personally, I really don't like the way a horn looks with the stem bent up, but practicality insists that you do.
