Wenge wood on stummel

Post by archaggelosmichail »

I'm making a freehand pipe with wenge wood on stummel. It was my first shape-first pipe, and everything gone well with drilling.

I want to ask if it's ok for the smoke to pass through wenge wood or I should insert a metal rod such as bamboo pipes.

Wenge is not safe to use for pipes. I think you'd be best off with a metal tube.

I have seen pipes made from it, However, I would do as Sandahl suggest, and run a metal tube through it. Better to be safe. Its' a killer in dust form. Goes for Central Nervous System. Splinters from it can cause Septic Shock.
