Finished this one last night. I was going for a Diplomat. What do you think?
Thanks for looking!
Diplomat
Re: Diplomat
Cool! I haven't seen a modern Diplomat in a long time!
I'm by no means an expert on the shape, but IMHO the stem could benefit with just a degree or two more bend, and the back of the bowl near the shank junction could be tucked in ever so slightly.
I'm really diggin the grain orientation on this one. Nice job.

Re: Diplomat
Beautiful pipe love it all but also think the stem needs a bit more bend. Thanks for showing us.

Re: Diplomat
Very nice shape and finish. Not much more you could do except some details like sanding out stain/buffing compound out of the tobacco chamber.

Re: Diplomat
That's a good looking pipe. To my eye, the only thing I would improve on the shape is to make the stem a touch longer. It seems a touch short to me and it's throwing off the overall balance a bit. Nice job overall though.

Re: Diplomat
I really like it. The grain is just perfect for that shape, too. I like the diplomat shape a lot, though I hardly ever see it now.
