Leaving the hobby, selling everything

Post by Tano »

Hi everybody. It"s been a long time since I posted. I hope everyone is doing well.
Times change and I'm sad to say that I'm getting out of the hobby.
I will be selling everything, such as metal lathe, chucks, "Trent" jaws motors dust collector, buffers buffing wheels ebonite rods and a good amount of briar etc.etc.
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada I was wondering if there is anybody in this area that might be interested?
All the best,
Tano

ps It's so long that I forgot how to post pictures on forum. I would prefer to correspond by e-mail, in case pictures are requested. Thanks
All the best,
Tano

Having seen this stuff, it's a treasure-trove of pipe making supplies.

Anyone even remotely close who needs anything from buffers to sanders to stain should be sniffing around this. I am trying to organize a group buy of the whole works to be split however people require.

I bought the Trent jaws and the chuck that went with it. Looked to be in good shape from the pictures.

He "scored" this for $11,000.

Sas doesn't know the guy had been looking since last summer for somebody willing to haul it away for free, though, so don't pop his balloon, OK?

The price might have been a bit high :) but I've seen far worse than that brought back from the dead. Most of the woodworking tools in my shop started out as bad or worse when I bought them.

If I showed you guys the haul, you'd be mad, and worse, Tano would come back and shake me for more money, so that ain't gonna happen.

What we did was get a good pipe making lathe to someone who needed an upgrade, his old lathe went to some new guys, and they also got a dust collector and a buffing station ready made.

I made upgrades to my dust collection and power sanding setups, so I can make a pipe in like, 8 minutes flat now. I also got a buncha briar and rods and bands and junk, consumables. Lots of sandpaper and some dyes and horn and just all kinds of goodies.

It actually took me a week to sort it out. And honestly I don't think I've seen the bottom of every bucket.

But if anyone needs a pimo tenon tool I got one now.

I believe there was a guy looking for one on FB just now in one of the major groups?
