has anyone tried this recipe for black dye

Sanding, rusticating, sandblasting, buffing, etc. All here.

Anyone know a modern name for aniline hydrochlorate?

Today we call it aniline hydrochloride for some reason.

And I got interested so I went and refreshed my memory, and this recipe varies slightly from what I understand Eltang uses. One ingredient is different, but it accomplishes the same result apparently.

EDIT: Ooops, two ingredients. Sorry.

Just to clarify, when I replied "Holy Crap!" I was surprised to see a lab stain formula. I want trying to be snippy that it shouldn't have been posted. Based on following comments I fear my surprise was misunderstood for frustration (or some other irritated emotion).

It absolutely is! Be sure to use gloss, not primer. :lol:
