what to do when grains are way different

Post by the rev »

Have this pipe I am carving now, the grains on both sides are beautiful birdseye but one side is so, so light that you can barely see them. Will these pop when I put the stain on? Or is there something I need to do to get the grain to pop on the light side?

well I suppose if one were to smoke to excess it would be a sin

"but what would be smoking to excess?"

Why smoking two pipes at once of course

I will try and get some pictures tomorrow, you can barely see the grains when its wet and my camera is not great, might not pick it up

If you can barely see the grain when it is wet, I would call it a bald spot, and either blast or carve it.
