finishing plateaux

Post by the rev »

Do you need to put a finish on it? I really like the matte finish after staining it, do I need to put shellac on it? Or something else?

thanks

I like to seal it only because it's kind of bitchy to clean later on in life, and if it's less absorbant of muck and filth, all the better.

I stain, then put a spit-coat of shellac on that is wiped off. The result is a matt finish.

lol
Artisans never finish their work – they merely abandon it.
Ideally, they abandon it at that point, where they are not sure if change, will improve or diminish it.
