I made a tool from finishing nails with the heads removed, 1/4" stainless tubing threaded at one end. Set as many nails as you can fit into the tube. With the sharpened end of nails protruding from the unthreaded end of tubing . Pack clay into that end and fill the other end with epoxy glue. After it sets up screw into stainless steel"t" fitting which makes a great handle.

With my hand... Simple twisting action... Just don't over think the process ....I usually go over it a few times until I get the results I want
