Home made lathe chuck

Post by WillAndersonpipes »

I've been needing some tower jaws for doing some turned pipes, so far I've been doing the all freehand, so I went ahead and made these jaws. I just have to get some set screws for the centering pins and I'll be able to test em tonightImage

How are these jaws working?

That's pretty much it. Depending on how many chucks
You have(I've accumulated several)
You might want to weld them so as not
To put too much stress on the bolts.
Nice job

Personally I would want a little more bracing to back up those welds, other than that they look good.

Yeah I actually just added some braces on the back. Gave me a much tighter grip
