Lathe chuck

Post by pipeguy »

Hi all I really hate doing this ,However I Thought I'd just put this out there.
I am in the process of having a briar chuck made by a machinist locally in my town
It will be along the lines of the chuck used by Chris Askwith ,Leo Bogart, No Nordh,
Peter Heeschen and many others I don't have any pics yet an the price will be more than a dollar
And we'll under a million. My machinist just said its just as easy to make 50 when your tooled up
Just trying to see if there was an interest.

Which one of my pipe making chucks? ;) lol

They are pretty simple designs, I am sure he right that the setup and design phase is longer than the manufacturing phase. In the world of machinists they are not really precision tools either which makes manufacture much faster.
