Headstock Spindle Adapter

Post by JHowell »

I think I remember someone posting a picture of a Talon 4-jaw chuck mounted on a bar that was held in a 3-jaw chuck. Obviously effective, but putting lots of overhang on the spindle, could affect centering and be prone to chatter. I was looking through the Penn State Industries catalog to see if I could recycle it, and found item LA11218, an adapter from 1 1/2x8 to 1x8. A good $20 fix for anyone wanting to use a Talon on a 9 or 10 inch metal lathe, many of which have a 1 1/2 spindle nose.

Oh, wow. That's a really sweet find, Jack. I'm ordering one today.

Thanks!
