Removing 1/2" adapter in Beall Arbor

I've just upgraded my motor that has a 5/8" shaft. Previously, I had the Beall Arbor on a 1/2" shaft with the adapter installed in the arbor. The adapter is an aluminum tube with 1/2" ID and 5/8" OD. It fits very tight.

Anyone ever remove one once it's in? Any ideas?

I may try putting the arbor in a vice and slowly chisel a tool under the adapter, bend a corner up, lubricate it, and try to grab it and slide it out.

try auto supply like Oreilly's, autozone, or advanced auto care. They rent them.
