JigokuBosatsu

Post by JigokuBosatsu »

Real name: Jess G.
Age: 38
Location: Portland, OR
Years a pipe smoker: Just started last year.
How you got into pipe making: I've been accumulating pipes for a while- first my late grandfather's, which I was disappointed to discover were all cheap Medicos and Yelloboles. Then I inherited my late stepdad's pipes, which included nice Petersons, a CAO meer, and a Preben Holm, among others. Once I started cleaning them up, I got the bug to smoke them, and then I got a pipe kit and made my dad a pipe for Christmas. I'm on my second kit now, and hopefully it won't be so ugly as that first one!
Other interesting facts: Husband and father, disabled, am/have been an author, artist, composer, and Buddhist priest!

Thanks for letting me in and I hope to learn a lot here.

Thanks, everyone! While I'm here, seamonster, do you know of any pipe clubs or events happening in the Portland area?

There's not a lot......

Seems like a bunch of folks tied to House of Calabash have a "Some Sunday of the Month" at the Rose and Thistle, but I've never gotten it together to go.

I've got a few friends that get together, we're trying to make it something a little more formal.
If you PM me, I can get you some contact info. We're always looking for friendly folks.

cheers,
Jeremy.
