Posting Your Images Or Avatars Via An Image Host.

Post by Frank »

If, like me, you don't have your own web page to link pictures, etc., you might want to take advantage of a free image hosting service at: http://www.imageshack.us/.

All you need do is register with the site, then you can upload your .gif/.bmp/.tif/.jpg/etc., to your (free) account. Thereafter, you just link from Imageshack to this forum for whichever picture you want to display, including your Avatar.

For some reason or other my Avatar from my computer was not uploading/displaying here, but now it works fine via Imageshack.

Hope this is of some use to a few of you.

Regards,
Frank.

I still can not get my avatar to upload, not sure what the deal is...I have it sized according to the instructions.

Maybe I will try your suggestion.

Changing avatars won't work. The search function won't work. People can't register and join easily.

Who's in charge of this mess? :P

I'll tell you, somtimes running these forums can be a real chore. The logfiles fill up my hard drive, people's antispam filters are my problem for some reason, and the durn backend code is a seething morass of evil and black-hearted spaghetti. Good thing it's a labor of love! :)

To be honest, I have not looked at the avatar problem. Hold on...

Okay, could someone try uploading an avatar and tell me if it works?

@Kurt
Hang in there. The vast majority of us fully appreciate the labour you put into running a website for our benefit.
Thanks for doing a good job.

Regards,
Frank.

Kurt, I'll bet if people found out how much you get paid to keep this site up they'd be asking for your job !!! :)
