Hello folks.
I have been given a horn stem to make a bowl for, and it has a fairly extreme bend to it, a 3/4 curve, and a diamond shank.

I was thinking of putting a delrin rod in it for a tenon. My concern is whether a push style stem is appropriate strength wise when it is a 3/4 curve. The only two 3/4 pipes I own are a threaded tenon and a military style.

thanks
Isaac

The bend in the stem doesn't matter in terms of style of tenon. The fit matters, though. As long as the tenon fits snugly into the mortise, you shouldn't have any issues from the bend.

Thanks. Yes I will make a tight fit, and will get a picture up soon. It has a fat, short tenon in horn than I am going to chop off to put in the delrin rod instead. It has a P lip kind of button
